Small Business Advantage Grant

To reap the benefits of working for yourself, managing you own schedule, and making as much money as you want, small business owners need to make money. In order to make money, you need tools, strategies, and sometimes support. ComConnect Foundation was founded to help small businesses build connections, capacity and acumen to positively impact their communities. This small business grant is part of that strategy.

In 2025, ComConnect Foundation will launch the inaugural Small Business Advantage Grant where up to three small businesses will receive grants of $500 - $1000 to help their small businesses start, grow, pivot, or receive recognition for excellence in service and/or operations. To qualify for this opportunity, the applicant must:

  • Have a small business or idea for a small business that they have put some tangible work into,
  • Be based in the United States,
  • Have an EIN,
  • Have a bank account in the business name,
  • Should have social media presence,
  • And have a commitment to improve their communities.

Men, women, and young people are eligible to apply. 

The deadline for the application is June 1, 2025. Finalists will be contacted to provide additional business based information, and winner(s) will be announced by September 30th

Winners will be required to participate in 16 weeks of business coaching. Coaching will be offered virtually and be scheduled at the winner's discretion. 

Winners will also have their business advertised on our platform, receive a free mailing list, and access to future funding opportunities (a $900 value).

Applicants must answer the required questions.  It is suggested that they also provide answers to the optional questions to help us better understand your organization.

The applicant must also complete the narrative section using the following outline. 1000 word maximum.

  1. Business Description – 
    1. tell us how, when, where, and why your business started. 
    2. What is your industry and describe your industry in your community
    3. What are your goals for the next year
    4. What are your goals for the next five years
    5. How do you plan to meet your goals
    6. How and when do you plan to measure your progress/success
  2. Personal Statement – 
    1. Tell us about yourself
    2. Who was your greatest motivator/inspiration
    3. What impact do you want to have on your community (legacy)
  3. Budget – 
    1. What is your budget for the 2026
    2. Tell us how you would spend the award money
    3. How will you proceed if you don’t get the money
  4. Experience
    1. What are two of the most important lessons you have learned in business in far
    2. How has running a business been harder or easier than you expected
    3. What your most profitable activity
    4. Who could you partner with in the next three months to increase your profits or bottom line

Any application that doesn’t follow this outline will be excluded from funding.
